Expo 2030 Riyadh
Hospitality Master Planning & Programme Development

Expo 2030 Riyadh is set to welcome 40 million visitors to a site that reimagines how people, place and technology interact. Led by LAVA, the master plan spans six million square metres and revives natural wadis to create a walkable and climate-responsive environment rooted in Saudi Arabia’s unique landscape.

Think Hospitality was engaged to shape the full food and beverage strategy within this ambitious vision. Working across five distinct districts, we developed a framework that considered every dimension of the hospitality journey including guest types, day parts, occasion, budget, operational flow and commercial performance.

Our role went beyond calculating units and capacities. We applied our hospitality placemaking model to ensure that food and drink would not only meet demand but enhance the rhythm of the Expo, creating moments of connection, delight and discovery. Hundreds of outlets and activations were mapped into the master plan with concepts designed to flex to different scales, cultural contexts and visitor expectations.

Alongside this we explored future-facing initiatives around sustainability, operating models and guest experience design. These included pioneering ideas that, if realised, could redefine the role of hospitality in major global events and leave a meaningful legacy for Riyadh long after the Expo closes its doors.

This project gave us a platform to demonstrate what we do best: combining foresight, creativity and commercial pragmatism to translate a bold vision into a hospitality experience that truly works.
